Uncle Zahurul Islam alias Haldi Zahurul (50) escaped after raping his 7-year-old niece in Aditmari upazila of Lalmonirhat. Last Sunday (May 14) at noon, the police rescued the abused child by calling the National Emergency Service number 999 and admitted him to the hospital. The fugitive Zahurul Islam alias Haldi Zahurul is the son of deceased Azgar Ali of Turur Bazar area of ​​Palashi Union of Upazila. Police and locals said that Zahurul Haque alias Haldi Zahurul was alone at home when his wife died just 6 months ago. Zahurul sometimes called a neighbor’s niece (7) to clean the house under the temptation of giving biscuits and chocolates. In this way, Zahurul called the niece and forcibly raped her on Sunday, promising to give her biscuits. Later, when the locals came running after the child screamed, the rapist Zahurul ran away.
Locals rescued the child in a bloody state and called the National Emergency Service number 999 to demand police assistance. On such news, Aditmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozammel Haque himself went and rescued the abused child in bloody condition and admitted him to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital. Aditmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozammel Haque said, the child was rescued in a bloody state and admitted straight to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital in his own car. The child is not yet completely free of scabies. Efforts are on to arrest the absconding rapist. So far no case has been filed in this incident.
