Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Lalmonirhat-15 Battalion arrested a smuggler named Rabiul Islam along with 14 gold bars worth Tk 1.4 million from Kurigram border. Earlier on the same day in the morning, he was arrested from the Kashipur area under Kashipur BOP of Kurigram district. The arrested Rabiul is the son of Mojibur Rahman of Dharmapur area of ​​Phulbari upazila of Kurigram.
According to the press release, on Friday morning, on the basis of a secret information that the gold shipment would cross, an operation was conducted in the area called Kashipur under the responsibility of Kashipur BOP of Kurigram under BGB-15 battalion. At that time, Rabiul Islam was arrested suspiciously from the paddy field along with the motorcycle. Later, after searching his motorcycle, 14 gold bars in a packet were recovered from inside the oil tank. The weight of which is 1 kg 633 grams and the estimated value is about one crore 40 lakh taka.
