The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched a surprise raid at Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital based on allegations of various irregularities and corruption.
On Sunday (May 18) morning, an ACC team comprising Kurigram and Lalmonirhat undercover started a raid on the outpatient department of Sadar Hospital. During the investigation, various irregularities were found in various departments of the hospital, including medical services.
The ACC team especially questioned the quality of the hospital’s food. Although each piece of fish for patients is supposed to weigh 90 grams as per the rules, the ACC team measured only 30 to 40 grams. In addition, the investigation also revealed deficiencies in the cleanliness of the hospital and misbehavior of the cleaning staff.
In this regard, Dr.Ā Abdul Mokaddem said, “Although the hospital has been increased from 100 beds to 250 beds, the manpower has not increased in this hospital. We are struggling to run a 250-bed hospital with only 100-bed manpower. However, appropriate action will be taken after investigating the allegations.”
ACC Deputy Assistant Director Mizanur Chowdhury Mizan, who led the operation, said, “We conducted an investigation today. The report, including the information and evidence obtained, will be sent to the ACC Director General.
