The leaders of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Welfare Front have demanded the arrest of Awami League leaders, alleging that they are carrying out illegal fishing in murky water by spreading rumors of attacks on the Hindu community.
These complaints were made during the harmony rally at Pran Kendra Mission intersection in Lalmonirhat city on Sunday (August 18) afternoon.
Speakers alleged that former Member of Parliament of Lalmonirhat-1 Constituency District Awami League President Motahar Hossain and fugitive Chairman of Hatibandha Upazila Parishad Liakat Hossain Bachchu gathered the people of the Hindu community at the Indian border by spreading rumours. There, various Indian media outlets spread false propaganda of attacks on minorities, vandalism and arson, and dramas of emigration were created.
Not only Lalmonirhat, but the minorities of different districts of the country are gathered there recently talking about the rally. Although it is a recent rally, they mainly spread rumors in the Indian media.
Leaders of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Welfare Front demanded the arrest of former MP Motahar Hossain and Hatibandha Upazila Parishad Chairman Liakat Hossain Bachchu, who recently damaged the image of the country.
Former deputy minister Asadul Habib Dulu, organizing secretary of BNP central committee, was the chief guest at the harmony rally organized by Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Welfare Front Lalmonirhat branch.
District President Gurucharan Roy, Secretary Anindya Kumar Roy, Joint General Secretary Shivendra Nath Roy Shibu spoke among others.
