Miraj Khan of Aditamari of Lalmonirhat was shot dead in Dhaka during the ongoing agitation. In this situation, the leaders of the district Jamaat stood by his family.
A team led by Professor Ataur Rahman, Shura Member and Lalmonirhat District Amir, met with the families of the martyrs at the Central Majlis of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on Saturday (August 10) evening. Later, his family was given financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh by the Zilla Jamaat.
District Naib Ameer Maulana Habibur Rahman, District Assistant Secretary Hafez Shah Alam, District Working Council Member Former Upazila Vice Chairman and Lalamnirhat 2 Constituency Candidate Advocate Feroz Haider Lovelu, District Working Council Member and Palashi Union Chairman Alaul Islam Fatemi Pavel were present among others. District upazila leaders. Note, Miraj was shot in Dhaka during the anti-discrimination movement.
Later he was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital without getting treatment anywhere in Dhaka. He finally died at the hospital last Thursday (August 8) while undergoing treatment. Miraj is the son of Abdus Salam of Bargharia Sardarpara in Mahishkhocha Union of Aditamari Upazila of Lalmonirhat. He was a student of Dunia Model School and College.  After passing SSC from Mahishkhocha Bahumukhi High School, he joined college and went to work in garments in Dhaka.
Miraj was not able to study due to financial instability and enrolled in college. Miraj went to Dhaka and worked in garments. As a student, he participated in the anti-quota movement at Jatrabari in Dhaka. Miraj was injured by miscreants during a procession after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled the country on August 5. The family and relatives tried to get the operation done at the medical and clinic in Dhaka, but as the doctor could not see them, they brought him to Rangpur Medical. Yesterday, the operation was completed after going through various ups and downs. He died later on Thursday.
