Local people have seized a car worth crores of taka belonging to former State Minister of Primary and Mass Education and former MP of Lalmonirhat-1 (Hatibandha-Patgram) constituency Motahar Hossain and handed it over to the police.
Police seized the car from Kakina area of ​​Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat early on Monday (June 16). At that time, the driver of the car, Kajal Chandra Roy, and his associate Aziz were taken into police custody.
According to local sources, the car was taken out of a house adjacent to the Dolapara border in Barakhata union of Hatibandha. The intention was to take Eid food to the former MP’s son’s house in Dhaka. When the matter came to the attention of the locals, they chased the car. After chasing the car, the locals were able to seize it when it reached Kakina petrol pump.
Upon receiving the information, the police quickly reached the spot and seized the vehicle. At that time, the driver of the vehicle, Kajal Chandra Roy, and his accomplice, Aziz, were arrested. Later, the two were kept in police custody at the police station.
