Lalmonirhat, a college girl was gang-raped in a corn field after meeting and making love through a mobile phone.
On Sunday (June 18) morning, the elder sister of the victim college girl filed a written complaint in the name of alleged lover Sohag at Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station.
Earlier on Saturday (June 17) evening, the incident took place in the corn field of the airport area of Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila.
According to the complaint, a young man named Sohag, posing as a member of the Air Force, developed a love relationship with the second year higher secondary student of Lalmonirhat Majida Khatun Government College.
Their relationship continued for two years. At one stage on Saturday (June 17) afternoon, Sohag called the college girl on her mobile phone to meet her at the airport.
Sohag took her to the nearby corn field and raped her. In the meantime, when Sohag’s two friends arrived there, Sohag stepped aside as per the previous plan and his two friends also raped the college girl and ran away.
As the college girl did not return home even though it was night, her relatives called her on her mobile and asked her to save her. Later, her family members quickly went to the spot and called the National Emergency Service number 999. Sadar Police Station rescued the college girl from the corn field with serious injuries and admitted her to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital.
In this incident, the victim’s elder sister filed a written complaint with the Lalmonirhat Sadar police station with the mobile number of the alleged lover Sohag, who is addressless.
Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ershadul Alam said that the college girl was rescued and admitted to the hospital. Written complaint received, legal action will be taken after investigation.
