At a local restaurant in Laksam, Comilla on the afternoon of August 14 (Wednesday) with a view to ending political, religious and ethnic violence and establishing peace and harmony.
A meeting was held to discuss what to do with PFG in the ongoing situation.
Coordinator of Peace Facilitator Group (PFG) Laxam Unit moderated by journalist Zafar Ahmed and chaired by Peace Ambassador Sirajul Haque spoke at the exchange meeting – Coordinator of The Hunger Project Nasir Uddin Ahmed, Peace Facilitator Group (PFG) Coordinator Khodeja Akhter, Peace Ambassador of Laxam Unit Nazmun Nahar. Nupur, Nure Alam Manik, Member Former UP Chairman Mubarak Hossain Bhuiyan, Journalist Arifur Rahman Swapan, Journalist Kamal Uddin, Journalist Salim Chowdhury Hira, Aurangzeb Khan Rubel, Khorshed Alam Biblab, Nazneen Akhtar Nipa, Yunuch Mazumder, Khabir Uddin Ahmed Kiran.
Speakers in the exchange meeting said, we do not want any more violence and conflict in this tired country. We want to establish peace among each other. We are born in this country. This country belongs to all of you. We are the people of this country. So we have to build this country. Everyone should come forward to build the country by avoiding arson, burning, looting, killing and disappearance. We believe that those who will come to power in the future will strengthen the fear of democracy. We want to establish democracy in this country. If a proper democracy is established in this country, everyone will be able to live without fear and disturbance. Common people of this country do not want conflict and violence. They want to live in peace.
