Khulna Range DIG Md. Rezaul Haque, PPM, was present as the chief guest at the inauguration and celebration of Kushtia Sadar Model Police Station activities.
On Saturday, Md. Mizanur Rahman, Honorable Superintendent of Police, Kushtia, greeted the Range DIG with flowers on the occasion of his arrival in Kushtia district. At this time, a smart team of Kushtia District Police saluted the Range DIG. Later, at 03.30 pm, the Range DIG formally inaugurated the activities of Kushtia Model Police Station and attended the “Celebration” held at the Sadar Model Police Station premises as the chief guest. The meeting was presided over by Md. Mizanur Rahman, Honorable Superintendent of Police, Kushtia. At this time, the DIG of Khulna Range gave a speech on various challenges of the police in maintaining law and order at Kushtia Model Police Station and various issues including dos and don’ts. He also asked the people who came to the Sudhi rally to immediately submit any complaints related to the Range Police in the complaint box. It is worth noting that the BNP leaders made a fuss over the coordinator being allowed to sit on the stage at the Sudhi rally and it spread on social media. On August 5, 2024, the Kushtia Model Police Station was destroyed by the students and the public, weapons and ammunition were looted and the police members who fled in fear for their lives quickly took shelter in the police lines.
In addition, the Sudhi rally instructed the officers-in-charge of the concerned police stations to immediately answer the questions of the people who came to the rally and provide them with their assistance. Also present at the inauguration and inauguration of the Kushtia Sadar Model Police Station activities were Faisal Mahmud, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance), Md. Rafiul Rahman, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Staff Officer to DIG), Md. Jahangir Alam, Assistant Superintendent of Police (Mirpur Circle), freedom fighter commander Rafiqul Alam Tuku, Jamaat leader Maulana Amir Hamza, former BNP MP freedom fighter principal Sohrab Uddin, local dignitaries, journalists from various print and electronic media, and officers and force members of various ranks of the district police.
