July Uprising Memorial Museum Committee announced. Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md. Nahid Islam announced this committee. Curator, teacher, writer and film maker will be convener of the committee. Ebadur Rahman. The special assistant of the chief advisor will serve as the joint convener of the committee. Mahfuz Alam.

The other members of the committee are writer and human rights activist Mustain Billah, Jagannath University Fine Art Department teacher Zahid Sabuj, National University Anthropology teacher Dr. Nurul Momen Bhuiyan, photographer, teacher and Director of Research and Publication Department of Shilpakala Academy Tanjim Wahab, writer and researcher Sahul Ahmed Munna, architect Marina Tabassum, Director General of Bangladesh National Museum; Director General, Directorate of Archives and Libraries; Director General, Directorate of Archaeology; Chief Architect of the Department of Architecture; Chief Engineer of Public Works Department; Additional Chief Architect of the Directorate of Architecture. Asifur Rahman Bhuiyan; President of Institute of Architects Bangladesh or suitable representative; Bayezid Mahbub Khandkar, Lead Architect of Nakshabid Architects; Architect Tanzim Hasan Salim of Design Works Group.

After the announcement of the committee, Advisor Nahid Islam said that the memorials of oppression in Bangladesh in the last 16 years will be preserved in the July Uprising Memorial Museum. Apart from this, the memorials of the students’ victory will also be preserved in this museum. A replica of the mirror room is also being considered at the museum. The museum will be established as a research area as well as preservation of memorabilia.

The advisor expressed hope that the people will hold this museum as a memorial of the victory of the students.

Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser. Mahfuz Alam said that the people of Bangladesh broke the pride of the fascist government-head by entering Ganobhaban to protect their human dignity. In the last 16 years, this public building has become a place of suffering for the people of Bangladesh. Again, there is a memorial of the people’s victory in this Ganabhaban. Symbols of people’s victory against fascism will also be preserved in this museum.

He also said that this museum will be open not only for the people of Bangladesh, but for the people of the whole world.

He also expressed hope that the newly formed committee of the July Uprising Memorial Museum will be able to start working this week.
