Upon receiving news of the arrest of former Housing and Public Works Minister R.A.M. Ubaidul Moktadir Chowdhury, leaders of Bijoynagar Upazila BNP and its affiliates held a joy procession and distributed sweets in Bijoynagar, Brahmanbaria, his constituency.
On Friday, November 1 at 10 am, sweets were distributed after the joy procession in Chandura and Amtoli Bazars of Bijoynagar Upazila. At this time, the iconic picture of Moktadir Chowdhury became outdated.
Present at the joyous procession were Bijoynagar Upazila BNP Convening Committee member Rastu Sarkar, Bijoynagar Upazila Sechchhasebak Dal member secretary Khabibur Rahman Monir, Bijoynagar Upazila Krishak Dal president Kausar Ahmed and general secretary Sajib Ahmed, former Brahmanbaria District Chhatra Dal members and Bijoynagar Upazila Jubo Dal organizing secretary candidates Tariqul Islam Sohan and Mazharul Karim Mamun, Bijoynagar Ulama Dal president Nizam Uddin, Chandura Union Sechchhasebak Dal member secretary Humayun Kabir, Budhanti Union Sechchhasebak Dal member secretary Shamim, Chandura Union Chhatra Dal joint general secretary and Bijoynagar Upazila Chhatra Dal organizing secretary candidate Tanvir Ahmed and student leaders Rafi, Maqsud Ali, Imon, and Faisal.
In addition, joy and sweets were distributed at various places including Aulia Bazar, Singerbil Bazar, Dewan Bazar, Champaknagar Bazar in the upazila on the news of the arrest.
It is worth noting that on Thursday night, October 31, the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) police arrested Moktadir Chowdhury from the Nakhalpara area of the capital. There are several cases of murder and sabotage against him.
