It is learned that recently, a disabled youth named Nahid formed a human chain against BNP leader Al Amin Sarkar in the Faydabad area of Dakshinkhan, accusing him of seizing a brick and stone business run by him. The matter was reported in various newspapers and online media. Uttara Press Club Senior Vice President Badrul Alam Majumdar shared the news on his Facebook account. And with this, the accused BNP Al Amin Sarkar and his followers sent an audio of killing the journalist by creating a mob. Along with this, the members of the gang spread various false information against journalist Badrul Alam Majumdar from various fake accounts on social media.
Meanwhile, journalist leaders in the human chain organized said that Ward 47 BNP President Al Amin was arrested with Yaba from his own shop in 2016 and spent about 5 months in jail. After August 5, he used his BNP position to take over the supply of goods for the new building in the area, as well as the garbage and dis-internet. The human chain also alleged that Al Amin Sarkar is doing these misdeeds with the blessings of senior leaders.
Regarding the accused Al Amin, journalist Badrul Alam Majumdar said that he is a very extremist person. His brother Moim is an active leader of the Kishore Gang. Earlier, Al Amin was expelled from the party for fighting at a program in Mirpur. Later, the city leaders returned his post with the special favor of a top police station leader.
He also said that since I have been living in this area for a long time; so there are various reports that the top police station leader has formed a terrorist force in the name of BNP in Dakshinkhan. Regarding the threats, journalist Badrul Alam Majumder said, they are threatening to kill me through a mob because of publishing news and sharing it on social media. I served as the president of the Uttara Press Club twice during the fascist era. Being the leader of the club, I had to deal with all kinds of people, including the BNP-AL and Jamaat. This is nothing new. The police also caught me from Uttara during the July movement. However, drug dealers are spreading various misleading information about me on social media.
National Press Club leader and BSS journalist Ismail Ahsan, who was present at the human chain, said that the threat to kill senior journalist Badrul Alam Majumder for publishing the news is a repetition of fascism. It is very sad and condemnable.
He said that a press conference can be held to protest against any news. But silencing journalists with threats cannot be a good culture. We request political parties to take strict action against such people.
In his speech, Uttara Press Club member Farid Ahmed Nayan said, we journalists will use our pens. Those who want to silence us by threatening us must be brought to justice. We strongly protest against the threat to journalist Badrul Alam Majumder.
