Journalist Sangsad Cox’s Bazar general meeting and annual picnic was held. Last Wednesday (February 15) morning, the picnic and meet-and-greet was held at the elite Jara Convention Hall in the city. The event was presided over by the President of Journalist Sangsad Cox’s Bazar MA Aziz Russell and conducted by General Secretary Balram Das Anupam. Cox’s Bazar Zilla Parishad Chairman Shahinul Haque Marshall, Tourist Police Additional Superintendent of Police Molla Mohammad Shaheen, Veteran Journalist Advocate GM Ashek Ullah, Daily Inkilab’s Cox’s Bazar Office Chief Shamsul Haque Sharek, Channel I’s Staff Reporter Sarwar Azam Manik spoke as chief guests on the occasion. Speaking on behalf of Journalist Sangsad Cox’s Bazar, Vice President Rezaul Karim, Syed Ullah Azad, Mohammad Aman Ullah, Salim Uddin, Organizing Secretary Jahangir Alam Shams, Abdul Malek Sikdar, Aminul Kabir, Abul Kashem etc. In the speech of the chief guest Shahinul Haque Marshal, Chairman of Cox’s Bazar Zilla Parishad, said that the role of journalists is very important in the construction of smart Bangladesh by the Honorable Prime Minister. Journalists should continue to write the truth with objectivity and impartiality. No matter how big a person is, if he commits a crime, he should be reported. He also said that journalists should write about the advantages and disadvantages of the 2.6 lakh people of the district. The truth should be presented not against anyone. By doing this, even if you do not get anything in the world, you will get its reward from Allah. He said that Bangladesh is moving forward with development vision-41 under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Only in Cox’s Bazar, three and a half lakh crore development work is being done. Even after that, some quarters are trying to dampen this development by running adverse campaigns. He called on the journalists to provide objective news about this development program. He also called upon the journalists to play a vigilant role in any corruption. The event was attended by teachers, journalists, businessmen from various professions. Balram Das Anupam, General Secretary of Journalist Sangsad Cox’s Bazar, presented the report at the beginning of the Annual General Meeting. The day-long activities included speeches, distribution of gifts, cultural programs, sports, raffle draw, distribution of prizes and hoisting of lanterns.
