Journalist Bahar Uddin Raihan has filed a case against former Member of Parliament of Comilla-6 Constituency AKM Bahauddin Bahar. He is a television journalist.

The accused in the case are former Member of Parliament of Comilla 6 Constituency Haji AKM Baha Uddin Bahar, President of Comilla Metropolitan Branch of Volunteer League Zahirul Islam Rintu, Member of Parliament Bahar’s bodyguard Dulal and 150 people.

The lawyer of the case Kaimul Haque Rinku and the plaintiff Bahar Uddin Raihan confirmed the matter and said that on January 15, 2015, Awami League leaders and activists attacked the strike program of the 20-party alliance. During the attack, MP from Comilla-6 Constituency A. K. M. Bahauddin Bahar and other leaders and activists of various levels of the party led the attack. At that time, they ambushed BNP and 20 party alliance leaders. Bahar Uddin Raihan, Comilla representative of Time TV, attended the scene to fulfill his professional duties in the incident of the attack. Former MP Bahar and Awami League leaders attacked him while recording videos and taking pictures. At that time, Bedam was seriously injured. and snatched away his camera. Awami League leaders and activists stopped him from going to the hospital for treatment when he was injured. Also, Bahauddin Bahar and his leaders and activists threatened him over the phone several times for attacking him and publishing the news. Journalist Bahar Uddin Raihan filed a case based on these allegations. Judge Md. Abbas Uddin took cognizance of the case and entrusted the investigation to the CID.

Journalist Bahar Raihan also said that MP Bahar has silenced the journalists of Comilla by intimidation, torture and oppression. Professional journalists were hostage to him.
