Riazuddin Chowdhury has joined Barura police station in Comilla as the new officer in charge (OC). According to police sources, in order to make the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections transparent, in light of the demand of the Election Commissioner, the officers in charge (OC) who have been staying in police stations for more than 6 months across the country have been recommended to be transferred. Based on this, he joined the Barura police station on December 9 by an order of the Comilla Police Superintendent’s office. His village home is in Chittagong’s Anwara police station. He completed Honors and Masters in Economics from Chittagong City College. After joining the Bangladesh Police in 2009, he performed important duties in various sectors of the police.

After joining the Barura police station as the officer in charge, he said in a conversation with the journalists that for how many days I will serve in the Barura police station, he wants everyone’s cooperation so that I can perform my duty honestly and beautifully.

He sought the cooperation of all the people of Barura, regardless of party affiliation, civil society, journalists, scholars and general public to present a drug-free Barura to protect Barura from eve-teasing, juvenile gangs.

Before joining Barura Police Station, he was working as (CMP) OC Investigation of Chawkbazar Police Station, OC Investigation of EPZ Police Station, Kotbari Fari Police Station and lastly as Officer In Charge (OC) of Bangra Police Station. He is married with one son and one daughter.
