On the occasion of commemoration of Great Martyr’s Day and International Mother Language Day in Barura of Comilla, a discussion meeting, mural display and cultural programs were held at the initiative of the upazila administration. On February 21 at 9 am in the premises of Barura Upazila Central Shaheed Minar, under the direction of Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Saiful Islam, hundreds of murals were displayed on the memory of martyrs with the participation of students from hundreds of educational institutions of the upazila. At 10 am, a cultural program was held with the participation of members of the Barura Municipality Kishore Kishori Club, Barura Sangeet Academy and Anirban artist group, followed by a discussion and prize distribution. Acting Upazila Executive Officer Md. Mehedi Hasan spoke as the President, Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Nazrul Islam, Upazila Education Officer Acting Md. Soleman Bhuiyan, President of Barura Upazila Press Club and representative journalist of daily Jayzaydin newspaper Md. Masud Majumdar spoke as guest, Amratali Government Primary. Principal of the school Md. Soleman Bhuiyan, principal of Muguji Government Primary School Syeda Akhter, heads of various educational institutions. Around hundred teachers and students of primary schools, secondary schools and madrasahs were present on the occasion.

At the level of Madrasa, Krishnapur Kharul Dakhil Madrasa is the first place, Barura Sunnia Kamil Madrasa is the second place.
