Adviser on Home Affairs Brigadier General (retd) M Sakhawat Hossain has requested the army to break their legs if any political party engages in usurpation and bribery.
On the first working day, Sunday (August 11) at noon, the Home Affairs Adviser came to the Ministry of Home Affairs and told reporters.
He said, if politics is to be done in this country, it should be done within the Political Party Act. Whether you like it or not. As long as I’m around, I’ll do it. You will become a dictator, it will not happen.
The adviser said, I am giving a message to all political parties. You see the condition of a political party, such a big party, such a traditional party. Today their members are on the run, with freedom associated with their name.
He said, if they think I will come to their place, I will take over, take over the market, take over the ghat, take over this, take over extortion. Do for a few days. But I told the army chief, requested you to break the legs. I don’t care, you go to hell.
Sakhawat Hossain said, I heard that Karwan went to the market and extorted money. A while ago I heard that there was a fight to take over the bank. Have some time, now do. Brother, I am not public, I am not politician, my background is military man. I will do what I say. I stay here for one day, and I stay for three days.
He said, whatever party will do the extortion. I say again and again do not extort. Do not increase human suffering. Then I will tell the people to beat you, the extortionists.
The advisor said to the people, catch those who will extort there. We will do what needs to be done. Order must be restored. The country cannot continue like this.
