Human chain of Ministry of Planning employees to eliminate discrimination

Planning Ministry and ERD Officers-Employees Welfare Association (EKS) have formed a human chain for various demands, including elimination of discrimination and announcement of the ninth national pay scale.

A human chain of officers and employees was held in front of the NEC building in Agargaon on Tuesday (August 13) morning. Finance-planning advisor Dr. was meeting with the officials at that time. The demands are

1. Elimination of pay disparity

2. The 9th National Pay Scale should be announced soon

3. Salary grades should be reduced from 1 to 10 grades

4. The time scale and selection grade should be restored immediately as before

5. Implementation of 100% pension and rate of gratuity should be fixed at 1:500

6. All administrative and personal officers employed in the Bangladesh Secretariat should be given the title of ‘Deputy Assistant Secretary’

7. Ration system should be introduced like other ministries and departments

8. Employees in grades 11-16 should be designated as ‘Additional Deputy Assistant Secretary’

9. Introduction of 1-10 grades by removing pay grade disparity of officers/employees. Note that 20th grade pay is Rs.8250/- and 1st grade pay is Rs.78,000/- along with other benefits which 20th grade has no facilities except pay.

10. Arrangements for internal transfer within the Secretariat of administrative and personal officers working under the Recruitment Rules

11. Elimination of discrimination by providing reservation to feeder posts and timely promotion of employees as per recruitment rules of civil service cadre officers.

12. In spite of revenue manpower in important sectors like Planning Commission, external project manpower is employed which needs to be removed urgently. It should be noted that there are about 70 people working on external projects in the Planning Commission
