A human chain has been held in Dinajpur to protest the filing of false and conspiratorial cases against the editor and publisher of Daily Amar Desh, Mahmudur Rahman, and the newspaper’s journalists.
The hour-long human chain program was held in front of the Dinajpur Press Club on Tuesday (April 22, 2025) from 11 am to 12 noon.
Journalists from various print and electronic media and members of the Pathak Mela participated in the human chain organized by the Dinajpur district branch of Amar Desh Pathak Mela.
The speakers in the human chain demanded that the interim government immediately withdraw the false and conspiratorial cases filed against Amar Desh editor, Mahmudur Rahman, and the newspaper’s journalists.
The human chain, moderated by Mahbubul Haque Khan, representative of Amar Desh Dinajpur district branch, was addressed by Golam Nabi Dulal, general secretary of Dinajpur Press Club and staff reporter of Somoy TV, Ekramul Haque Abir, convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Dinajpur district branch, Md. Rezaul Islam, member of the central committee of the NCP Sramik Wing, Kamaruzzaman, district representative of Dainik Manabzamin, Md. Faruk Hossain, staff reporter of NTV, Promthesh Shil, former senior correspondent of NTV, Emdadul Haque Milon, district representative of Kalerkanth, Sultan Mahmud, district representative of Deepto TV, Shahinur Islam, general secretary of Birganj Press Club, Md. Mosharraf Hossain, Kaharol Upazila representative Md. Aminul Islam, Hakimpur Upazila representative Mir Shahidul Islam, and others. Representatives of various print and electronic media working in Dinajpur and other members of the Dainik Amar Desh Pathak Mela were present at the human chain.
