Fayzul Islam: A human chain was held in Savar protesting the rising incidents of murder, rape, child rape, child abuse, extortion, drug trafficking, and violence against journalists across the country. Participants also demanded swift and effective action to curb these crimes.

The program was organized at Savar উপজেলা Gate by 17 social and professional organizations.

Among those present were cultural personality and President of Savar Club Abdul Kader Talukdar, Honorary Secretary of Savar Citizen Club Alomgir Kabir, Wakilur Rahman, organizer Babul Morol, journalists Rafiqul Islam and Fayzui Islam, Didarul Alam Dipu, along with leaders of different organizations.

Speakers at the human chain said incidents of murder, rape, child abuse, extortion, drug abuse, and attacks on journalists are increasing across the country every day, creating deep concern and anger among the public.

They also said journalists working in the field are facing constant insecurity. Many media workers are becoming victims of assault and harassment while gathering news, making it increasingly difficult for them to perform their professional duties.

Leaders of the participating organizations said the administration must play a more active role in ensuring public safety. They also called on people from all walks of life to remain aware and united in protesting against crime and all forms of violence and abuse.
