Sonaimuri (Noakhali)Correspondent : A human chain has been held in Sonaimuri Madhyapara Jame Mosque demanding proper investigation and trial of the pre-planned attack on Maulana Noma Siddiqui by terrorists. On Wednesday, at around 11 am, the hour-long human chain was held in front of Medicare Hospital at the roundabout on the bypass road under the banners of the National Ulama Mashayekh Parishad, Aima Parishad and Towhidi Janata. The speakers in the human chain demanded that those involved in the incident and others involved in the incident be arrested without delay, brought under the law and given exemplary punishment, including measures to recover the medical expenses of the tortured imam from those involved in the incident, and necessary measures to ensure that no other mosque imam is tortured in the future. He demanded a strong demand for acceptance. The people who spoke at the human chain were Hefazat Islam District Vice President Maulana Ismail Hossain Siddiqui, Sonaimur Police Station President Hafez Maulana Aminul Haque, Islamic Movement Sonaimuri Police Station President Hafez Mamunur Rashid, Shane Sahaba President Hafez Mominur Rahman, Islamic Youth Movement District President Hafez Maulana Jihan Mahmud. Imam of Sonaimuri Dak Bangla Mosque Maulana Golam Rabbani, General Secretary of National Ulama Mashayek Amma Parishad Sonaimuri Police Station Branch Maulana Sakhaet Ulya, Joint General Secretary Hafez Nazrul Islam, Organizing Secretary Hafez Maulana Mainul Islam, etc. It is worth mentioning that on May 5, 2025 at 5:30 PM, due to a dispute over the leadership of the Sonaimuri Ithanpara Jame Masjid Committee, Abdul Hannan, a member of the mosque’s organizing committee, purposefully tried to appoint an Imam to suit his own interests and forcibly pressured the Imam to leave the mosque. On May 6, 2025, in the morning, Imam Noman Siddiqui asked him about his crime, and immediately started using aggressive, ugly and insulting words towards the Imam. He tortured and beat up 3/4 Imams, including Md. Nasir Uddin, Md. Ali, Md. Wabayed Ullah.
