The STS Foundation and TSI are receiving genuine love and respect from the general public due to the unremitting efforts of herbal scientist and heroic freedom fighter Syed Tipu Sultan PhD, President of STS Foundation and TSI in Sirajdikhan, Munshiganj.

During the post-independence period, the communication system between Kusumpur village in Sirajdikhan, Munshiganj and the capital Dhaka was not very developed. Therefore, the villagers of Kusumpur were deprived of education along with advanced and quality healthcare. STS Foundation started its journey in early 1980 for the welfare of the people of this region.

The Chairman of STS Foundation and STS Multi Agro, herbal scientist, freedom fighter Syed Tipu Sultan PhD, has initiated 28 projects for human welfare on his own initiative.

Some of these projects are:
Arsenic Mitigation Program, Eye Camp/Blindness Prevention/Free Eye Medication, Free Cleft Lip Treatment Project,

Artificial Limb for the Destitutes, TSI Palliative Care Center and Hospital, Bikrampur; Kusumpur STS Medicinal Plant Research Center, Bikrampur; Kusumpur Plant Distribution and Plantation, STS Library, Scholarship and Exam Fee for the Poor and Meritorious Students, School Founding, Evening School “Akshar” for the Illiterate Adults,

Fellowship on Environment Journalism, Monthly Honorarium for the Poorest, Financial Assistance for the Terminal Patients, Project for the Emergency Situation, Self Reliant Project, Corona Awareness and Care Project and Sponsored Different Projects of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital Palliative Care Center.

Regarding the activities of the Arsenic Mitigation Program, Syed Mahmud Hasan Mukut, Chief Coordinator of TSI and STS Foundation, Bangladesh, said,

We, through Touching Source International, have worked on prevention, remediation and disease awareness of arsenic contamination in 80% of educational institutions, markets and local public representatives in about 44 districts of the country as per the instructions of Syed Tipu Sultan PhD.

In this program, awareness leaflets have been distributed to 80% of educational institutions, markets and local public representatives in 44 districts of the country to create public awareness about arsenic.

In addition, after testing the water of which tubewells contain arsenic and which do not, experts color the water of tubewells that contain arsenic in red and those that do not contain arsenic in green.

I Camp is being conducted at a specific time in every upazila of the country among the helpless and poor elderly population deprived of quality healthcare. In addition to medical services, all other services, including free glasses, are being provided free of charge.

TSI Palliative Care Center and Hospital is the first satellite palliative care center hospital in Bangladesh. Tania Bagan (TSI Palliative Care Center) is run by registered doctors, nurses and trained pharmacists.

The registered elderly patients suffering from chronic diseases of this hospital are provided with free medical services and medicines 4 days a week. In addition, doctors and nurses also visit the elderly patients at their homes to provide medical services.

Under the STS Foundation, in the name of Mother Sufia Khatun, students of local educational institutions are being encouraged to pursue education by providing free books, providing scholarships and paying various fees including examinations.

Regarding this program, the principal of Bikrampur Government KB College said that STS Foundation President, freedom fighter Syed Tipu Sultan PhD, is providing financial assistance to those school and college students who cannot buy books.

In addition, the contribution of Syed Tipu Sultan PhD family to facilitate the education of the people of Kusumpur, including the establishment of Kusumpur High School, is a memorable and proud thing for the people of Kusumpur.

River Water and Environmental Activities:

Due to the Farakka Barrage in India, the cultivation of farmers’ crops in Bangladesh is affected during the dry season. In addition, the release of large amounts of water at untimely times without giving advance notice and stopping the supply of water has threatened livelihoods and biodiversity.

Following the example of the oppressed people’s leader Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani, IFC organized a historic long march of 1 million people on the banks of the Brahmaputra River at Chilmari Port in Kurigram on March 4, 2005. The founder and secretary general of the International Farakka Committee, freedom fighter Syed Tipu Sultan PhD, played a key role as the secretary general of IFC. This proved the heroism and deep love for the country and the environment. This was an unprecedented gathering on the face of the earth.

To expand this work, he traveled to more than fifty countries including China, Nepal, India, and France. On March 5, 2012, he protested in front of the World Bank and the Indian Embassy in protest against the construction of the Tipaimukh Dam and the Inter-River Project Dam by India, and submitted a memorandum to the World Bank, the Indian Embassy, ​​the IFM, and the State Department.

He submitted a memorandum on the same issue to Bangladesh Consul General Shamsul Haque on behalf of the expatriates. He also informed the United Nations, the World Bank, and the White House about this matter long ago.

Interest-free microfinance project in Kusumpur:

STS Foundation and TSI are providing interest-free microfinance to the poor and needy people of Kusumpur village through 22 different microfinance projects. Through microfinance, poor families have regained their solvency by owning cattle farms, grocery stores, sewing machines, and rickshaws. STS Foundation and TSI are currently working together to successfully implement other projects.

Evening Adult Education Program Akshar:

Highly educated and talented students are working tirelessly to provide literacy and education to the illiterate elderly people of the village through the adult education program run by STS.

Financial Assistance for Elderly Patients:

TSI is providing round-the-clock services to the physically disabled, extremely poor elderly people, and those who have no one to take full-time responsibility through this project.

Housing Project:

TSI is working to help 10 families of poor and needy people affected by natural disasters to build new houses every year.

In addition, there are portraits of houses from 7 countries of the world in the two-story houses of Padmaghat and Patkhari.

Corona Treatment and Assistance Project:

STS has created public awareness and distributed health supplies to the public during the global pandemic Corona virus pandemic. In addition, daily essential food items are distributed as emergency aid to low-income working people.

Amateur Farm:

Due to the tireless work and love for trees of PhD, along with 250 types of fruit and medicinal plants, there is cultivation of various varieties of vegetables, which has caught the attention of everyone, both domestic and foreign.

Due to his special contribution to agriculture, a special report on Syed Tipu Sultan PhD’s agricultural garden was broadcasted in Washington City, the heart of New York City, through Shaikh Siraj on Channel i’s Mati O Manush program. In addition, a large number of visitors who came to see his huge garden and amateur agricultural farm were fascinated by seeing it with their own eyes.

Thinking about the nutritional needs of the people of Kusumpur, STS Foundation and STS Multi Agro Chairman, herbal scientist and freedom fighter Syed Tipu Sultan PhD, on his own initiative, built a large multi agro consisting of 160 species of mango trees. The entire profit, including the capital from the sale of mangoes, fish and nursery seedlings of this multi agro, is spent on the welfare of the poor and helpless who come to TSI Hospital for treatment.

If the notable mangoes of Multi Agro are cultivated commercially in the country, marginal farmers will benefit. Multi Agro’s notable mangoes are the world-famous Japanese Miyazaki mango, which is one of the 240 species of mangoes in the world. Then there is the Banana mango, which is very delicious and juicy in Thailand, this mango is sold at a higher price than the mangoes sold in the market of our country.

King of Chakapat mango, this mango is such a delicious mango in our country, with an apple flavor, the color is very beautiful, anyone who sees it will want to hold it with their hands, Bari for mango, this mango is a scientifically invented mango variety, when all the mangoes in the market are finished, the sweet and delicious mango without pits is available. The world’s famous raw sweet Kingjai mango, its characteristics are that it weighs about 1 kg, it is very sweet to eat, you will not want to eat it ripe if you eat it raw.

Alfansh mango, characteristics are very delicious and juicy, if someone eats this pitless mango, he will be so impressed, needless to say, although it is cultivated in India, it is exported to Muslim countries including Dubai. Characteristics of Deori mango, Deori mango is very sweet and delicious and juicy.

There are 5 varieties of Baromasi mango, Bari-11, Kakimon, Rupali, Haribhanga, Deori, Blackstone, RTEP, Dokmai, Chakapat, Cant, Gouramati, Lima, African Jumbo and Totapuri, among other notable mangoes, in Multi Agro.

In addition, one-time donations are made to mosques and madrasas through STS Foundation and donations are made for the marriage of poor and helpless boys and girls. Arrangements are made for various types of entertainment for local people including sports, donations are made to Kusumpur Jagrani Sangsad and Kusumpur Diabetes Center. Significant contributions to Kusumpur Library, the highest one-time donation is made to the Upazila Education Trust. There is also a school called Banail High School in Banail village in Tarail upazila of Kishoreganj, run by TSI, with a student population of about 1000.

Syed Tipu Sultan has a huge library in North America. It houses a collection of books by Nobel laureates in literature spanning 120 years. The first Bangladeshi-owned art gallery in North America was founded by Syed Tipu Sultan on September 27, 2009. The art gallery was inaugurated by City Mayor Joseph Carey.

Syed Tipu Sultan PhD
Born in 1952 in a well-to-do family in the traditional village of Kusumpur in Bikrampur. His father Syed Mozammel Hossain was the president of the Muslim League in India at that time.

He completed his Masters in Pharmacy from Dhaka University and obtained his R.PH degree in the United States. Since 1977, he has continued to practice writing along with social and cultural service activities in addition to his job.

He established the Bangladesh Cultural Center in New York in 1990 to preserve the culture, tradition and heritage of Bangladesh among the new generation growing up in America. He has also served as the member secretary of the second conference of FOBANA (Federation Of Bangladeshi Association in North America) and as the chairman of the election commission of Bangladesh Society New York three times.

He was also the chairman of the election commission of Dhaka University Alumnae Association. He is the founding chairman of the first art gallery outside the country, Bangladeshi America Art Gallery.

Every year he awards fellowships for special contributions to environmental journalism. He was the first to form a cell with journalists from print and electronic media to highlight the poor condition of Bangladesh’s rivers and environment.

All these projects and overall activities are being successfully carried out by him, the President of Maulana Bhasani Foundation and President of STS, TSI, Pharmacist, Herbal Scientist, Hero Freedom Fighter Syed Tipu Sultan PhD.
