Hatibandha Upazila of Lalmonirhat, anti-discrimination students held a rain-soaked protest to demand the resignation and arrest of former Awami League member of Parliament Motahar Hossain and Hatibandha Upazila Parishad Chairman Liaquat Hossain Bachchu of Parliamentary Constituency-1 (Patgram-Hatibandha) of the district. The protesting students gave a 12-hour ultimatum to arrest the former member of parliament and upazila chairman in the protest agenda.
On the morning of August 18 (Sunday), the anti-discrimination students protested in front of the Upazila Parishad gate and held a sit-in program in the rain. At that time, the students warned of a tougher movement if the former parliament member of Lalmonirhat-1 Motahar Hossain and Hatibandha upazila parishad chairman Liakat Hossain Bachchu were not resigned and arrested within 12 hours. Member Motahar Hossain should be arrested quickly. Until they are arrested and resigned, our movement will continue.
