He also said that in the language of the institution, the disabled cannot be called disabled, they should be called people with needs. Islam has given this teaching.
What is a disabled person, why they become disabled, and how to provide employment for the disabled will be discussed in detail in the next workshop.
If this project is implemented, children and adolescents aged 3 to 18 years in 12 unions of Gabtoli Upazila and 9 wards of Gabtoli Municipality will have the opportunity for special education and integrated education. Physical capacity will be increased through the provision of therapy and assistive devices.
They will acquire the ability to involve their disabled children in the mainstream of society. Disabled people and children in the concerned areas will be fully integrated socially. Those aged 18 to 50 years will have their economic condition improved. They will not be a burden to the society, but will become an asset, he said.
