Former Member of Parliament of Dhaka-7 Constituency Haji Mohammad Salim has been produced in court in the case of Lalbagh police station in the capital regarding the murder of college student Khalid Hasan Saifullah. He broke down in tears after being brought to court on Monday (September 2).
When asked to sign the affidavit, he said that he could not sign. Later, lawyer Pran Gopal Nath filed an affidavit on his behalf in the court with his tips.
Earlier on Sunday night, he was arrested from Banshal police station area of the capital. Later, in the case of Lalbagh police station, Haji Mohammad Salim, the former member of parliament of Dhaka-7 constituency, was requested to be remanded for 10 days.
Khalid Hasan Saifullah, a first year student of Ideal College, was shot dead in Lalbagh’s Azimpur government residential area during the anti-discrimination student movement on July 18. In this incident, his father Kamrul Hasan filed a murder case at Lalbagh police station on August 19. 52 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were accused in the case.
