In Rajshahi, HTI (Hands Together Initiatives), a non-political, voluntary and social organization consisting of students of different nursing colleges of Rajshahi division, has provided free eye check-up, medicine and consultation.

This free eye care service, medicine and consultation was provided at Lahar Ali Hafezia Quariana Madrasa and Orphanage Centre under Auchpara Union of Bagmara Upazila in Rajshahi at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

Chief Executive Officer of Rajshahi Zila Parishad Md Reza Hasan was present at the event as the chief guest. The Special Guests included Mr. Mahbubul Islam, the Upazila Nirbhai Officer of Bagmara; Mr. Touhidul Islam, the Officer in Charge of Bagmara Police Station; Mr. Helal Uddin, the Manager of Premier Bank PLC, Rajshahi; Mr. Rakib Hasan, the Manager of Rupali Bank PLC, Lakshmipur Branch; Mr. Shafiqul, the Manager of Janata Bank PLC, Hordogram Branch; Mr. Alif Mahmud, Assistant Engineer and Advisor of HTI; Mr. Amjad Hossain, the Mohtamim of Lahara Ali Hafijia and Qawmi Madrasa; and Mr. Nahid Hossain, the President of HTI, among others.

Dr Reshma Tul Jannat of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital, Sub Assistant Community Medical Officer Raihanul Haque, Senior Optometrist of Adhunik Ophthalmic Hospital, Rajshahi, Md Maruf Rahman, Lab Technologist of Rajshahi Paramedical, Tariqul and Sadia, members of HTI, Nursing and Midwifery College students Saif, Mahim, Arjuma, Himel, Enamul, Saikat, Samiul, Jamiur, Khadiza, Maya and Mim provided services to 300 patients.

In the campaign, IOP, SPT, Acute, Cataract, Initiation, Dimness Vision, Diabetes Test and Blood Group Diagnosis were done and free medicines and consultation were provided to them as per the doctor’s advice.

The beneficiaries of the campaign expressed satisfaction over the services provided to them. According to the organisers, the event was organised to provide free eye check-up, medicines and consultation to the poor people who are suffering from eye problems, considering their financial disabilities. They said that such activities would continue in future also.
