In the light of the theme “Agriculture is Prosperity”, the distribution of agricultural incentives among a total of 13 small and marginal farmers of the upazila was inaugurated on Thursday, April 23 at 10 am at the Agricultural Training Hall Room of the Galachipa Upazila Agricultural Office in Patuakhali, under the chairmanship of Agricultural Officer Arju Akhter and in the presence of the chief guest, Acting Executive Officer and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Nasim Reza.
At that time, Dr. Zakir Hossain, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Galachipa branch, BNP leader Abdus Sobhan Mia, Convener of the Public Rights Council Md. Hafizur Rahman Master, President of the Press Club Md. Khalid Hossain Milton, Harun R. Rashid, Md. Hafiz Ullah, Senior Journalist Md. Zillur Rahman Jewel and various journalists were also present.
According to the Agriculture Office, this year, 10 kg of Ufshi Aus rice seeds, 10 kg of DMP and 10 kg of MOP were distributed free of cost to small and marginal farmers from various unions in packages of 2,450 hectares of land under Ufshi Aus cultivation.
