An 11-member committee of Comilla Chandina Upazila Press Club has been formed. This committee was constituted in a general meeting in the presence of journalists working in Chandina at the temporary office at Chandina High School Market on Sunday, July 7.
Journalist Kazi Abdur Razzak Rashed (Chandina representative of NTV, our economy and our new era) was elected as the president by the verbal vote of all the journalist members present, journalist Mizanur Rahman Imran (Comilla North District representative of Anand TV, Daily Observer and Rupsi Bangla special representative) – K General Secretary and Journalist ATM Mazharul Islam (Staff Reporter of Daily National Economy and Human Rights Daily, Comilla District Correspondent of Daily Sangbad Digant) was elected Organizing Secretary.
In addition, journalist AKM Azad Imran (Special Correspondent Comilla of National Economy newspaper) has been appointed as Vice-President, journalist Alif Mahmud Kawsar (correspondent of 71 Bangla TV, Daily Bangladesh Bulletin and Bangladesh Today) has been appointed Joint-General Editor, journalist Abul Kalam Azad (daily Chandina Upazila Representative of Sangam Digant Patrika) was made Treasurer and Journalist Zahir Raihan (Editor of Daily Purbashar Alo Online Portal and Special Correspondent of Weekly Deshapriya Patrika) was made Publicity Editor.
Other executive members of Chandina Upazila Press Club are: Journalist Shahidul Islam Khoka (Chandina representative of Dainik Deshseba and Dainik Sakal), Fakhrul Islam (Banga TV representative and editor of online portal Chandina Time 24), Mir Mosharraf Hossain Babu (Dainik Mukti Samachar). Special Correspondent and Chandina Correspondent of Global Sangbad) and Journalist Shakeel Ahmed (Chandina Correspondent of Aam Sangbad and Daily Post).
President journalist Kazi Abdur Razzak Rashed said in the general meeting that any information or news should be verified before dissemination. In today’s social media era, any misinformation or rumor spreads quickly. It creates misunderstanding in the society, harms the people and the country. The leaders of Chandina Upazila Press Club and everyone should prevent the spread of misinformation.
Based on the opinion of the members present in the general meeting, a full committee consisting of 11 members was formed and a decision was taken to include new members of Chandina Upazila Press Club under the leadership of the new committee.
