A farewell reception and annual award distribution ceremony was held for the retired teachers and staff of Jhalom High School and College in Barura, Comilla.
On Wednesday, May 21 at 11 am, the program was presided over by the President of the Governing Body, Md. Moazzem Hossain Kallol, at the premises of Jhalom High School and College. The Chairman of the Comilla Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Professor Md. Shamsul Islam, was present as the chief guest.
Barura Upazila Assistant Commissioner Bhumi Umme Muslima, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Ratan Kumar Saha, former president of Jhalom High School and College Md. Abdus Samad, president of Chitdda Abdul Momin Chowdhury Memorial Girls High School and president of Jhalom High School and College Alumni Association Ahsanul Haque Chowdhury Selim, and social worker Md. Abdul Haque were present as special guests.
At this time, Principal Mohammad Emdadul Haque Palash delivered a welcome speech under the guidance of Assistant Professor Mohammad Masud Majumder, Sarkar Shiuli Akhter, Assistant Headmaster Md. Forkan Hossain Majumder of Jhalom High School and College. Dr. Md. Mosharraf Hossain, Md. Yusuf Ali, former members of the Governing Body Md. Idris Mia, Md. Shahjalal, members of the Alumni Association, spoke. Assistant Professor Md. Abul Bashar, Md. Shahjalal, Md. Abdus Salam spoke on behalf of the teachers, retired assistant teachers Md. Rafiqul Islam, Swapan Majumder, Zahirul Islam Chowdhury spoke on behalf of the departing ones. Mohona Bhowmik, Md. Rakib Hossain spoke on behalf of the students, all the teachers and students were present at the time.
At the end of the program, commemorative plaques were distributed to retired teachers and students who participated in the annual sports and cultural competitions. During the speech, the guests gave advice and guidance to the students to focus on their studies. In addition, the students were instructed to prevent drugs, child marriage and refrain from mobile devices.
