Mohammad Aman Ullah, Cox’s Bazar : Cox’s Bazar South Forest Division and Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila jointly conducted the operation on Tuesday (February 7) in the afternoon. According to the source, under the guidance of Divisional Forest Officer of Cox’s Bazar South Forest Division Sarwar Alam and under the leadership of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Zakaria Hossain and under the overall supervision of Sadar Range Officer Special Operation Team Sameer Ranjan Sahar under the overall supervision of Cox’s Bazar Range Link Road Beat Come Check Station of South Muhuri Para Imam Muslim Madrasa. On the other side, a joint operation was conducted to evacuate two paved buildings illegally built in the place of the government forest department. Cox’s Bazar Sadar Range Officer Special Operation Team Chief Sameer Ranjan Sahar said that the local beat office recently received information about a gang of miscreants occupying the forest department’s land and constructing a paved road in Jhilongja. With the permission of the higher officials and with the cooperation of the upazila administration, two illegal paved houses were vacated. He also mentioned that legal action will be taken against those involved and that the campaign to protect the forest will continue. Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Zakaria said that two structures built illegally in the forest department’s place have been evicted. The campaign against forest encroachers will continue. Road beat officer Md Sohail Hossain, Himchari beat officer Kamruzzaman Shovan, Chainda beat officer Fasiul Alam Shubo and Kasturaghat beat officer Catching U Marma were present.
