Independent candidate and former MP Amanur Rahman Runner (Eagle symbol) has been accused of vandalizing the election campaign office after receiving the election symbol of Tangail-3 (Ghatail) constituency in the 12th National Assembly elections. The incident of vandalism took place in Sangrampur Union of the upazila on Monday night.
Independent candidate and former MP Amanur Rahman Khan Rana said that boat workers vandalized two of his election offices in Sangrampur Union of the upazila. Gile beat up 5 of his leaders and activists to stop him. The former MP also said that he has applied to the Ghatail Police Station and the Election Returning Officer.
Locals said that a fleet of motorcycles came at night and vandalized the office of the independent candidate. At that time, the workers of independent candidates beat them if they obstructed them. However, they believe that the boat symbol will be people.
In this event, Awami League’s nominee (candidate of the boat symbol) Dr. Kamrul Hasan could not be contacted.
In this regard, the officer in charge (OC) of Ghatail police station. Abu Salam Mia PPM said that a team has been sent to the spot after receiving the news. Whoever commits the crime of election disorder will be brought under the law quickly.
