Helal Ahmed, an Italian expatriate, has distributed food items to half a hundred helpless families in the flood-affected areas of Agyun village of Moulvibazar Sadar Upper Kagabla Union. In the first phase of this program, each family is given 5 kg of rice, 1 kg of sugar, 1 liter of oil, 1.5 kg of potato, 1 kg of onion, 500 g of garlic, 1 packet of semai and 1 soap. Helal Ahmed, a resident of Italy, is the son of the late Md. Abdul Ali of Agyun village. Helal said, in the first phase, we have distributed food items among half a hundred families on a private initiative. Calling upon all expatriates and people of the country to come forward to help the flood victims, he said: This activity will continue on behalf of me personally and my family. We will distribute more food items gradually.
