In Cox’s Bazar, the District Administration and District Social Welfare Office have distributed cheques for financial assistance to the poor for medical treatment, education of meritorious students and those affected by natural disasters. Last Tuesday, cheques worth seven lakh taka were distributed among 174 individuals in favor of the District Social Welfare Committee received in the 2024-2025 financial year and unspent in the 2023-2024 financial year at the Arunodaya School premises. Additional Deputy Commissioner Nizam Uddin Ahmed was the chief guest at the cheque distribution ceremony.
The meeting was presided over by Deputy Director of the District Social Services Office Hasan Masud. Deputy Director of the Youth Development Department Moazzem Hossain, District Child Affairs Officer Ahsanul Haque, Assistant Directors of the Social Services Office Shafiuddin Sofi and Md. Abdul Awal, Consultant of the Disability Services and Assistance Center Dr. Saiduzzaman Majumder, Deputy Project Director of the Integrated Child Rehabilitation Center Jasmine Akhter and other concerned persons were present.
