The Upazila Agriculture Office in Galachipa, Patuakhali, organized a distribution of equipment among marginal farmers under the Nutrition Garden Project in their family yards or abandoned places.
On April 29, at 11 am, organized by the Upazila Agricultural Extension Department and in the presence of Upazila Agriculture Officer, Agrobied Arju Akhter, agricultural equipment was distributed among 89 marginal farmers of the upazila under the uncultivated fallow land and Family Nutrition Garden Project. The distribution ceremony was attended by the Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officers of the upazila and marginal farmer brothers from different unions. It is mentioned that under the Family Nutrition Garden Project, 22 types of vegetable seeds, 6 fruit seedlings, nets, signboards, 50 kg organic fertilizer, and grating materials for water irrigation were distributed to 89 farmers. At this time, the farmers who received agricultural materials were very happy and said that they would work carefully in the family nutrition garden and fulfill their nutritional needs. After distributing the materials, Upazila Agriculture Officer, Agriculturist Arju Akhter told reporters that the government is continuing to provide various cooperation including agricultural materials to increase the country’s agricultural production. In addition, in April, Aush paddy seeds and chemical fertilizers for the 2024-25 fiscal year were distributed among 13,000 marginal farmers of the upazila. Hopefully, if the farming community cultivates agriculture properly at the right time, the government’s intention and the country’s agricultural production will prosper.
