A discussion and prayer meeting was held in Pirojpur on the occasion of the 44th martyrdom anniversary of martyred President Ziaur Rahman. This was organized on Monday (June 16) at 7:30 pm at the field adjacent to the Kumirmara Bekutia Bridge Toll Plaza by the initiative of Kumirmara Friends Sporting Club and Library.
BNP National Executive Committee member and Pirojpur District BNP convener Principal Alamgir Hossain was present as the chief guest at the event.
District BNP member secretary Gazi Wahiduzzaman Lavlu was present as the main speaker.
Municipal BNP member secretary Md. Sarwar Hossain Howlader, acting chairman of 05 No. Tona Union Parishad Md. Mainul Islam Dulal were present as special guests.
In the discussion, the speakers highlighted Ziaur Rahman’s contribution to the Liberation War, his leadership as a statesman after independence, and his role in the development of the country.
The program was presided over by Md. Al-Amin Howlader, President of Kumirmara Friends Sporting Club and Library, and moderated by Md. Alauddin Howlader, former Vice-President of Pirojpur District Chhatra Dal.
The program was supervised by Md. Shahin Fakir, General Secretary of Kumirmara Friends Sporting Club and Library, Md. Mizhanur Rahman Matubbar, Vice-President Md. Mamun Khan, Organizing Secretary Md. Mithu Fakir, etc.
After the discussion, a prayer meeting was held to pray for the forgiveness of the soul of Shaheed Zia and Tabarak was distributed among the attendees.
