Directorate of Public Health and Engineering is working to solve the drinking water crisis due to severe floods in Feni, 6 mobile water treatment plants are in operation to supply clean water in Feni district. Anyone can collect clean water for free. Also, fresh water is collected from the treatment plant through jerrycans and delivered to different places. Directorate of Public Health Engineering is distributing water purification tablets with the aim of providing safe water to the people stuck in the water. One tablet can purify five liters of water, which is good for up to 48 hours. Around 20 lakh water purification tablets have already been distributed. So far there is enough stock. The Department of Public Health Engineering in coordination with the District Commissioner continued their service activities. Meanwhile, ongoing activities of Directorate of Public Health Engineering, Feni District:

Distribution 20 lakhs
2. Water jerrycans (10 litres): Distribution 10000
3. Hygiene Kit: Distribution-1200 t
4. Mobile Water Treatment Plants: 6 are in operation
5. 8 floating latrines
6. Distribution of bleaching powder: 1000 kg
7. Tubewell Disinfection,- Contd

9. Latrine Repair – Ongoing
10. Construction of temporary latrines – ongoing.
Apart from this, public awareness miking and distribution of leaflets related to flood and disaster safe water collection, use tube wells and sanitation are going on. In this regard, Executive Engineer Md. Shafiul Haque said that all our officers and employees are working as a team and providing services to the people by collecting information from different places. , the continuity will continue in the future and urged everyone to be aware of water-borne diseases.
