On the occasion of the third death anniversary of the brave freedom fighter Nurul Islam, the founder of Jamuna Group, Quran reading and doa mahfil were held in Laksam upazila.
The prayer ceremony was held at Jamia Darul Uloom Islamia Madrasa adjacent to Rajghat Hossain Miss of Laksam Municipality on Thursday (July 13). Daily Jugantar upazila representative MA Mannan organized and moderated the discussion on the career biography of Jamuna Group founder and visionary Birmuktijoddha Nurul Islam, Haji Abdul Quddus, former president of Laxam Press Club and president of Upazila Anti-Corruption Committee, and Kamal Uddin, president of Laxam Journalists Union, spoke at the press club. At the time, they said, with talent, honesty, hard work and courage, 41 industrial establishments were built one by one by this uncompromising late freedom fighter Nurul Islam. He owns Jamuna Future Park, Asia’s largest shopping mall. Besides, there are companies like Jamuna Electronics, Dainik Jugantar and Jamuna Television in this list. He has created employment for half a million people. This strong voice against corruption and injustice has always called black as black and white as white. He never backed down from his policy for fear of bloodshed.
He also had big dreams for the country. But before that dream was fulfilled, he fell into eternal sleep. And brave actions have immortalized this great hero of the industry. Artist Nurul Islam will live among us through his actions. At the end of the discussion, Korankhanir and doa prayers were conducted by Khatib Maulana Md. Zakir Hossain Siddiqui of Daulatganj Railway Station Mosque.

At the end of the prayer, cooked food was served among hundreds of Hafiziya Madrasa Koran Hafez students, public representatives and local traders.
