Court language will Bangla if law implemented

Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed moderates it and Prof. Dr. Nahid Ferdous, Open University of Bangladesh reads the written speech. Bangla is recognized as solo official language in Bangladesh. To execute constitutional ordinance and compel the use of Bangla at every phase in Bangladesh “Activation of Bangla Language Act 1987 was passed. But court proceedings continued in English. By an High Court ordinance in 2012 orders the equity of Bangla and English. But it is still rarely cared.

Abdul Motin, former justice, “Introduce new law on use of Bangla for court proceedings and implement it actively. Only then it will start working.” Prof. Dr. Anisuzzaman says, “To meet the demand of age and job requirments we are to use English. It’s not any probleml if we can make conversation successful by using Bangla or English.” Dr. Mohammad Shah Jahan says, “Financial improvement can eradicate the patronage of English. Introduce price for recording court proceedings in Bangla can inspire to use Bangla.” Adv. Shofikur Rahman, Chairman of Humanity Foundation, says, “We are ashamed of failure to activate Bangla in court proceedings over last fifty years. Language Movement is the seed of Liberation War but its demand still neglected.” Dr. Saria Sultana, Rakhal Raha, Feroj Ahmed, Faruk Wasif, Md Nur Khan, Asjadul Kibria, Syeda Rejwana Hasan, Majdar Hosen and somer other distinguished persons were present in the programme. Advocate Muhammad Shofikur Rahman presides over it.
