Nur Islam Nayan, Dinajpur Correspondent: On Saturday, May 24, a coordination meeting on legal aid with the district-level Legal Aid Administration was held at the hall of the District Legal Aid Office in collaboration with the Non-Governmental Organization Pallisree and Mansur Jonna Foundation (MGF) Dhaka.
Pallisree Balubari Dinajpur’s Gender Justice and Training Shamsun Nahar presided over the coordination meeting with CSO-Women’s Club members, while Fatima Khatun, District Legal Aid Officer and Senior Assistant Judge Dinajpur, spoke as the chief guest. Project Coordinator Rawnak Ara Haque Nipa moderated the meeting, and members of the Women’s Club raised various questions and Arzina Ara, Bishokha Rani, Arjuman Begum, Sumaru Kujur, Hasna Hena spoke. Chief guest District Legal Aid Officer and Senior Assistant Judge Fatima Khatun said, the Legal Aid Office has been providing free assistance in solving any legal problem. Free consultation for everyone and after listening to the amicable cases, it calls both parties and settles them through amicable settlement. We have been providing legal assistance to the indigent, poor and helpless people. Panel Lawyer Adv. Khurshida Parveen Jolly spoke as the special guest. Field Volunteer Majedur Rahman delivered the welcome speech. Gender Justice and Training Manager Samsun Nahar, in his presiding speech, said, Pallisree has been standing by the helpless and oppressed people for a long time and providing all kinds of legal assistance through the District Legal Aid Office. We go to the spot or go to the grassroots level to investigate the incident and if it is amicable, we settle it through amicable settlement. And if it is not amicable, we provide advice on the case through Legal Aid. We are currently implementing this project in Dinajpur Sadar, Chehelgazi Union, Fazilpur Union, and Sheikhpura Union.
