Bangladesh Awami Fishermen League Patuakhali district branch held tri-annual conference. Advocate Afzal Hossain, Organizing Secretary of Central Awami League, was the chief guest at the conference on Friday (February 24) at 11 o’clock at Bara Chowrasta Nasir Engineer Ground under the chairmanship of district Awami Fishermen’s League convener Bir Muktijoddha Md. Nizam Uddin Talukdar and joint convener GM Ataur Rahman. The President of the Central Awami Fishermen’s League, Bir Muktijoddha Md Chayidur Rahman, was the inaugural speaker, and the general secretary of the Central Awami Fishermen’s League, Lion Sheikh Azgar Lashkar, spoke as the main speaker. District Awami League General Secretary Vir Muktijoddha VP Abdul Mannan, Central Fishermen’s League Vice President Department Head Mohammad Yunuch, Organizing Secretary Muhammad Habibur Rahman, Executive President Md Saiful Alam Manik spoke as special guests. Galachipa Upazila Parishad Chairman Md. Shahin Shah, Central Fishermen’s League Forest and Environment Secretary Masud Karim Mithu were present on the stage as special guests. The main speaker in the conference was the general secretary of Central Fishermen’s League Lion Sheikh Azgar Lashkar Bir Muktijoddha Md. Nizam Uddin Talukdar as president, Md. Ziaur Rahman Jewel as general secretary, Dr. Shahidul Islam announced Biswas as senior vice-president, Ah Jabbar Talukder as vice-president, Fazlul Karim Forkan as organizer, Noor Israel Talukder Hero as freedom fighter affairs secretary and Bir Mukti Joddha as High Master as No. 1 member. At this time, the general secretary Lion Sheikh Azgar Lashkar ordered to form a full committee within 45 days after discussing the other positions of the committee with the district Awami League president and general secretaries. The second party session of the conference day, Barisal No. 1 Steamer Ghat, Barisal Muslim Hotel Restaurant General Secretary Lion Sheikh Azgar Lashkar Patuakhali District Awami-League President Bir Muktijodha Kazi Alamgir on the phone with the consent of District Awami-League District and District President of Patuakhali and Awami League. Ziaur Rahman elected Jewel Mridha as the secretary in the presence of the President of the Central Committee of the Fishermen’s League and informed the District Awami-League President about the matter. At this time, he also said that within the next 1 week, he ordered to contact the presidents and general secretaries of all the upazilas and approve the complete committee list in the central committee in Dhaka. The speakers along with the chief guest in the conference called for strengthening the organization of the Fishermen’s League in Patuakhali at the grassroots level for the victory of Bangabandhu’s boat, Sheikh Hasina’s boat and Awami League’s boat in the upcoming national elections.
