Bangladesh Railway has suspended four people for the accident of Sonar Bangla Express at Nangalkot in Comilla. On Monday (April 17), Railway Ministry Deputy Chief Information Officer Shariful Islam confirmed this information. He said, train guard Abdul Quader (Chittagong division), Hasanpur station maintainer signal Wahid, loco master Md. Jasim Uddin (Dhaka Headquarters), Assistant Lok Master Md. Mohsin (Dhaka HQ) has been suspended. Shariful Islam also said that the investigation committee is continuing its work. Meanwhile, a four-member inquiry committee headed by DTO (Chittagong) Tarek Mohammad Imran has been constituted to investigate the Sonar Bangla Express train accident. The committee has been asked to submit its inquiry report within three working days Incidentally, on Sunday (April 16) around 6:15 in the evening, the Sonar Bangla Express train hit a freight train stopped at Hasanpur railway station in Nangalkot, Comilla. In this, five coaches including the engine of Sonar Bangla train twisted and fell off the line. About 40 people died in this accident.
