 The first extended meeting of the newly formed committee of Comilla Metropolitan Awami League was held at this extended meeting. In the meeting, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was congratulated for accepting “The Sheikh Hasina Initiative” model for rural townships around the world by the National Association of Community Clinic Model implemented by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Prime Minister Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Yesterday Friday evening, Metropolitan Awami League President and Member of Parliament Bir Muktijoddha AKM Bahauddin Bahar presided over the extended meeting at the Bangmata Fajilatunnesa Mujib floor of the Metropolitan Awami League office in Ramghat of the city. Comilla Metropolitan Awami League General Secretary City Mayor Arfanul Haque Rifat presided over the meeting and Bangladesh Krishak League Central Committee President and Metropolitan Awami League member agriculturist Samir Chand attended the meeting. Almost all the members of the committee, advisory group, leaders of organs and allied organizations were present in the meeting. In the meeting, several organizational decisions were taken including paying respects at the tomb of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu. The decisions include paying homage to the portrait of the Father of the Nation at 32 Dhanmondi on Sunday, May 21. Visiting and paying tribute to the shrine of the Father of the Nation in Tungipara on Thursday, June 8. Apart from this, several organizational decisions were taken to speed up the subsidiary organizations, including the distribution of responsibilities of three joint general secretaries and three organizational secretaries. At the end of the meeting, the leaders and activists congratulated the President of the Metropolitan Awami League and Member of Parliament Bir Muktijoddha AKM Bahauddin Bahar on the occasion of his birthday. Family members of AKM Bahauddin Bahar were present at the time.
