Aminul Haque Shaheen, Chittagong: Port Traffic Police is conducting a series of special campaigns against illegal shops and illegal vehicles occupying the roads in order to prevent accidents on the roads, reduce traffic congestion and restore order in the port of Chittagong. On the morning of May 28, hawkers and shops occupying the sidewalks in the Patenga and Steel Mill areas of the city created obstacles on the roads and removed them, making them suitable for use on the roads, and illegal auto-rickshaws and defective vehicles were seized and dumped. It is learned that floating markets are constantly being set up on the roads in the Katgarh and Steel Mill areas of Patenga, creating obstacles on the roads. As a result, long traffic jams are created every day and ordinary working people who travel on the roads have to suffer. Finally, to reduce the suffering of the common people, the Port Traffic Police went to the field since morning to remove all these floating shops and hawkers from the road. At that time, they were removed from the road and made suitable for road traffic. It is known that such a drive was conducted by the Traffic Port Department on the instructions of the Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic-Port) Kabir Ahmed of the CMP to prevent various accidents on the road and restore overall order. During this time, Assistant Commissioner (AC) of the Traffic Port Zone Mohammad Salauddin, Traffic Inspector (TI) Admin-Mashiur Rahman, Traffic Inspector (TI) Patenga, Mohammad Selim and other police members were present.
