The students of Comilla District Barura Upazila Adra Union have come out for market monitoring to prevent LPG Gas (Cylinder Gas) price increase and common people’s anger.
On Saturday (August 24) at 11 a.m., they monitored the Ekbaria market of Comilla District Barura Upazila Adra Union.
In Ekbaria market, it can be seen that member secretary of Upazila Chhatra Dal, led by Liton Pandit, is looking at the price list of LPG gas (cylinder gas). Students also see whether it is being sold at the correct price as per the list. At that time, they asked all the vendors in the market not to extort any kind of money, and they themselves should not pay any kind of extortion. Apart from this, they also urged not to make common people suffer by increasing the price of cylinder gas unnecessarily.
Liton Pandit, Member Secretary of Upazila Chhatra Dal, said, “When we heard that cylinder gas bottles cost 22 to 23 hundred taka. Then we decided to control the price. People suffer because of some unscrupulous traders. The biggest source of suffering for the common people is the price of daily necessities. This is why we monitor Ekbaria market. Traders told us to sell at a limited profit from now on.
