Former MP in Comilla A K M Bahauddin Bahar and his daughter Dr. Cases have been filed against 376 people, including Tahseen Baha. According to the case, their names have come up in connection with the armed attack on the students during the march of the anti-discrimination student movement on August 3.
Afchar Abdul Haseeb, a resident of Araiora village in Adarsh ​​Sadar Upazila, who filed a case on behalf of his son who was shot in the procession, said that his son Afchar Abdul Hanim, along with Comilla University students Jannatul Eva and Saiful Islam, were seriously injured in the attack.
Kotyali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Feroz Hossain confirmed the case. He said Bahar and his daughter have been made the main accused in the case, and 120 others named and 376 others have been named as accused.
Some city councilors and UP chairman including Adarsh ​​Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Aminul Islam Tutul, Metropolitan Awami League Acting General Secretary Atiq Ullah Khokon, and Metropolitan Volunteer League President Zahirul Islam Rintu have been identified as Bahar’s close associates in this case.
Meanwhile, since the case, the accused have left the area and are hiding, said OC Feroz Hossain. Police activities are continuing to arrest the accused.
The incident has added a new dimension to the political scene in Comilla, where the anti-discrimination movement has sparked a backlash among students. In this tense situation of the society, the administration needs proactive steps to bring the criminals under the law.
