The number of dengue patients has suddenly increased in Brahmanbaria. In the last two days, the number of patients has increased almost two and a half times. According to the latest information available on Wednesday morning, 27 people have been infected in the last 24 hours. A total of 75 dengue patients are hospitalized in the district. A total of 140 people have been infected with dengue so far.
According to information received from the Brahmanbaria Civil Surgeon’s office on 24 July 11 people were infected with dengue in the last 24 hours. Besides, on 25 July 18 people and on 26 July 27 people were reported to be infected. However, no one has died so far during the ongoing process.
According to the sources, among the latest victims, five people are admitted in Brahmanbaria District Sadar Hospital, 10 in Bancharampur, three in Kasba, four in Vijaynagar, two in Nabinagar, two in Nasirnagar and one in Ashuganj. However, the total number of patients to receive treatment is more. According to sources, 16 patients are undergoing treatment in District Sadar Hospital, 22 in Bancharampur, 10 in Kasba, 12 in Vijaynagar, eight in Nabinagar, four in Ashuganj, two in Nasirnagar and one in Sarail. However, there are no patients admitted in Akhaura Upazila Health Complex.
Meanwhile, a source from the private hospital authorities said that many more people have been affected by dengue beyond the official count. Many of them went to Dhaka for treatment after being diagnosed with dengue after being tested at private hospitals and clinics.
Under treatment at 250-bed Brahmanbaria General Hospital. A patient named Simon said, ‘I used to work in Dhaka. A few days ago I developed a fever while there. The next day it decreases again. Again, later on. After coming to the area, I confirmed that I have dengue. He said that he is feeling better after treatment.
