The body was found floating in the river in the Hamidchar area under Chandgaon police station in the city on Wednesday morning. The fourteen-year-old teenager has been named Md Rahat.
He is the son of Md Liaqat of Bahaddarhat area and a seventh-grade student of Chandgaon Sanowara Boys High School. Rahat played for the Chittagong Brothers Union Junior Cricket Team.
Chandgaon Police Station SI Abdul Quddus said that Rahat did not return after going to school on Tuesday. His family searched for him at various places after the school was over. The body was recovered on Wednesday. Investigations are underway to find out who Rahat left school with and where he went.
