There is public anger over the inclusion of BNP leaders who resigned in Islamkati, Tala upazila of Satkhira, in the search committee. Local BNP leaders have sought the favor of the central committee to remedy the incident. However, the accused BNP leaders did not agree to comment on the matter. Several BNP leaders of Islamkati Union, on condition of anonymity, said that in 2019, when the dictator Sheikh Hasina was in power, Islamkati Union Jubo Dal president Sheikh Anichchuzzaman and local ward BNP president Prakash Chandraguh voluntarily resigned from the party. This was published in a press release on Saturday, January 26, 2019, in the Satkhira-based daily Satnadi. The two former BNP leaders became active when Sheikh Hasina was ousted from power in the August 5 public uprising and fled to India. They were seen in several BNP meetings and processions to assert their power. Recently, when the district BNP formed a search committee, the names of the two leaders appeared in the BNP search committee of Islamkati Union, and the party’s loyal workers were disappointed. This is currently creating a storm of criticism in the area.
They said that Anisuzzaman and Prakash Guha had deep ties with the people of Awali at that time. Many people in the party have been affected because of them. In such a situation, local BNP leaders and workers have demanded the expulsion of the two opportunistic former leaders from the search committee.

When Anisuzzaman also asked Prakash Chandra Guha about the matter, they did not agree to comment.
