Workshop on tuberculosis prevention held in Barura

A one day workshop on Tuberculosis Control Program was held at the initiative of BRAC at Upazila Health Complex in Barura, Comilla at 11 am on Tuesday 7th March. BRAC organized this workshop with teachers, religious leaders, freedom fighters, journalists, and dignitaries of the area. In the workshop, District Supervisor of BRAC Md. Hannan Chowdhury presented an excellent speech on various aspects of tuberculosis control prevention. Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Kamrul Hasan Sohel spoke as the chief guest at the workshop. Kamrul Hasan, Area Supervisor, Aktaruzzaman pp o, Labali Akter, F o, Rahul Majumdar, Md. Ojesh Ahmed Chowdhury and others were present. Barura Upazila currently has 389 tuberculosis patients undergoing treatment. Last month, 64 patients were identified. Tuberculosis is not a contagious disease. This disease spreads from sneezing and coughing. The government provides this treatment free of cost. You will contact the government hospital and BRAC. Treatment cures this disease.
