Two grooms went to get married in Brahmanbaria on Monday by helicopter. Among them, engineer Sheikh Zahir Uddin came just one kilometer away and expatriate Hridoy Haque came by helicopter from 12 kilometers away. Both took the bride home in a helicopter. It has been confirmed by talking to those concerned that they arranged their wedding by riding a helicopter to fulfill their ‘hobby’. Both weddings became the talk of the town for days. Hundreds of people gathered to see the helicopter. The two marriages discussed in Nasirnagar and Akhaura upazilas of the district were completed on Monday afternoon. Among them, Sheikh Zahir Uddin alias Tunnan who got married in a helicopter in Nasirnagar is the younger son of Nasirnagar Upazila Parishad Chairman and former Upazila Awami League President Rafiuddin Ahmed. On Monday afternoon, Nasirnagar Ashutosh Pilot High School went to Nasirnagar Ashutosh Pilot High School ground on a helicopter from Nasirpur of Upazila Sadar, the village home of the groom. Later, the bridegroom went to the house of his bride Ligar Sultana alias Lisa by a horse-cart in Dattamandal village of Upazila Sadar. Both bride and groom are engineers. Meanwhile, Italian expatriate Hridoy Haque, son of businessman Zahirul Islam Juru of Chhatura Sharif village of Dharkhar union of Akhaura upazila, came to Radhanagar college neighborhood of the same upazila by helicopter, 12 kilometers away. On Monday, around 3:30 pm, the groom arrived at the Shaheed Smriti Degree College ground by helicopter. Nasirnagar’s groom Sheikh Zahir Uddin said that in 2010, his sister’s elder also came by helicopter. Sister and niece wanted her wedding to be in a helicopter. To fulfill that wish, this exceptional event is organized. Rafiuddin Ahmed, the father of the groom Zaheer, said, “I am too old. This exceptional arrangement is in the interest of the family and to protect his son Abda. Nasir Uddin, a businessman of Akhaura land port and a close relative of the groom, said that the heart of the Italian expatriate is the biggest among the siblings. His hobby is mainly to come to bride’s house by helicopter. The bride was also taken by helicopter.
